<p>Whislt we were conducting the water monitoring tests, we spotted 2 activities along the river banks there ;-</p>

<p>A scavenger spotted busy salvaging plastic/mineral bottles at garbage site near to the suspension bridge of Juru Dam&#8230;..for recycling use !!. Like old newspaper, household plastic /mineral bottles can be collected for recycle and reuse !!</p>

<p>Physical monitoring<br />
Colour and appearance – cloudy<br />
Smell – nil<br />
Vegetation – field grass<br />
Animals – Lizard (biawak), otter(memberang) and snake (ular)<br />
Activities – recreation area with a suspension bridge and several chalets in dilapidated conditions, a rubbish /plastic bottle scavenger spotted nearby and seen salvaging at the rubbish site near the river bank whilst several anglers seen fishing there.</p>

Dissolved oxygen (DO) – 8 ppm<br />
Turbidity – 40 JTU<br />
Phosphate – 4 ppm<br />
Nitrate – 5 ppm<br />

Site 2 – Parit 4 near PETRONAS petrol station at Bukit Tengah Industrial Area along the Federal Route about 11.5 km south-east of Butterworth town</p>

Physical monitoring</p>
<p>Colour and appearance &#8211; brownish, cloudy<br />
Smell – smelly<br />
Vegetation – weeds along river bank of concrete embankment, growth of algae<br />
Animals – Nil<br />
Activities – road expansion works in progress, concrete drain along the Bukit Tengah Industrial area. Numbers of factories sited along the concrete drain. Spotted a man harvesting for moina.</p>
